How we check listings

Where every field on Laundromats.fyi comes from, how often it's checked and why some stores are left out.

Every listing is rebuilt once a month from the sources below. Each city page shows the date it was last checked.

We keep only facts from Google Maps. We never store or show Google ratings, reviews or photos.

How a store gets on the list

  • Overture Maps lists it as a laundromat or laundry service, and Google Maps confirms it at the same address or phone number. Or Google Maps lists it as a laundromat and it has a street address.
  • A store that isn’t listed as a laundromat stays only if its own website shows a walk-in storefront at that address: self-service machines, or a drop-off counter.

Why a store is left out

A store comes off the list only for a fact:

  • it has closed;
  • it isn’t a laundromat: a dry cleaner, a linen or uniform service, a business-only laundry, a delivery-only service with no storefront, an apartment laundry room or a car wash;
  • it’s a duplicate of another listing.

A store missing from Google Maps on two monthly checks in a row is hidden while we check whether it has closed.

What a card shows

A card shows only what a source states. If a store’s website doesn’t publish a price, the card doesn’t show one, and we never estimate a single store’s price. On chain websites, a price counts only when it’s on the page for that location. City summaries, such as the price of a 20 lb bag of wash and fold, use only the rates stores publish. See wash and fold prices for what those rates add up to across Florida and Texas.
