Data sources and attribution
The data sources behind Laundromats.fyi and their licenses.
Overture Maps Foundation
Listings include data from the Overture Maps Foundation places dataset (overturemaps.org, release 2026-10-21.0). The places we list carry data from these Overture sources, under the terms Overture gives on its attribution and licensing page:
- Data from Meta, Microsoft and BrightQuery, available under the Community Data License Agreement – Permissive, Version 2.0.
- Data from Foursquare. Copyright 2024 Foursquare Labs, Inc. All rights reserved. Available under the Apache License 2.0. Foursquare data was transformed to the Overture schema. Changed: 2026-03-18.
- Data from AllThePlaces, available under CC0 1.0.
Foursquare OS Places notice
The NOTICE.txt that comes with Foursquare’s data, reproduced in full as its license asks (source):

The Foursquare OS Places dataset (the “Data”) is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the “License”). You may not use, modify, or distribute the Data except in compliance with the License.
As set forth more fully in the License, if you use, modify, or distribute the Data, you must:
– provide recipients with a copy of the License.
– if applicable, include prominent notices to the extent you’ve changed the Data.
– preserve attribution to Foursquare, including preserving the full content of this NOTICE.txt file.
To ensure appropriate attribution to Foursquare, we recommend the following:
– if using/distributing the Data in flat file form as-is or after making changes/modifications: include this NOTICE.txt file, which may be modified to include an additional notice of your changes/modifications, if any.
– if using/distributing the Data in API form as-is or after making changes/modifications: include a copy of the content from this NOTICE.txt file prominently in your developer documentation for such API, which may be modified to include an additional notice of your changes/modifications, if any.

Our changes to the data: we removed closed, duplicate and non-laundromat records, replaced some names with the business’s current name on Google Maps, cleaned up name formatting (capitalization, stray symbols), and added hours from Google Maps and services and prices from each store’s own website. Overture’s note on Foursquare’s records: transformed to the Overture schema, changed 2026-03-18.
Google Maps
Hours and open or closed status are checked on Google Maps. We use these facts only; we don’t store or show Google ratings, reviews or photos.
Store websites
Services and prices come from each store’s own website. Each card names the site and the month we checked it.
U.S. Census Bureau
Population and renter households come from the U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2024 5-year estimates, tables B01003 (total population) and B25003 (tenure). This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau.
